Snowfall warning issued for B.C. Peace and Pine Pass

first_imgThe public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at Highway 97 – Pine PassHeavy snow for today and tonight.A significant winter storm will bring heavy snow to the above regions today and tonight. Total accumulations of up to 25 cm are expected with this storm. North Peace RiverB.C. South Peace RiverHazardous winter conditions are expected.A significant winter storm will spread snow to the Central Interior and BC Peace this morning. The snow will be heavy at times and last through tonight resulting in total accumulations of 15 to 25 cm. In addtion, northeast winds of 30 km/h gusting to 50 will give reduced visiblity in blowing snow.- Advertisement -Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
